Follow Up to Trailer towing post and question on GCWR table

This is a follow up to the post on towing with my 92 E-350 26.5 MB.  I have the rig back and spent some time today looking at the GCWR tables in the owners manual.  I have the 7.5 litre motor with a 4.10 rear end.  The GVWR is listed at 11,500.  Dry weight with me in the coach and I'm 200 pounds was 10,680.

The thing I'm confused by now if the Ford owners manual has a GCWR table that lists 3 GCWR's for the engine and axle combo I have.  Two at 11,000 and one that is 18,500.  Can I assume I'm at 18,500 since the other two are below my listed GVWR?  They don't specifically say how you determine the GCWR you have in the manual although they list required equipment after the table of super cooling, handling/suspension package and trailer tow package.
 I guess the way I interpret the table is to assume if you have super cooling, handling/suspension package and trailer tow package you have the maximum listed GCWR?

Hey Jerry, Was going to post yesterday to ask the outcome.  You never checked inside the door?  Andy posted twice that it should be there on the VIN plate.  Did you ever weigh the trailer?
 Your assumption sounds logical but if it is not clearly stamped on the vehicle, I would not be that sure.   Have you tried emailing Ford with your vin to see what they may say? But again.....  have you checked the door sill?

I checked the door sill over and over again. The VIN and info plate is there but the GCWR is not listed. The owners manual has several pages of GCWR tables based on engine and axle combo but as I mentioned in my post it is a bit confusing. I'm going to see about posting on a Ford truck site and maybe hit the dealership early next week.

Inside the mirrored closet door (left) of our 2006 MB is a set of weight ratings which seems pretty clear to me...but I'm not the pilot and not "in charge" of technical issues...have you one of these lists?

The newer LD's have them listed, the older ones do not, confirmed by a discussion with the factory.  I was told that in my "era" LD did not list or tag the vehicles with a GCWR you have to go by what Ford lists in their documentation.  Luckily I have the original Ford E-350 owners manual along with all the original LD documentation.

Sounds like great news Jerry.  Now you know more than you ever wanted to about towing with your LD.  The beauty is you have have a better understanding of your vehicle and towing in general because of this exercise.
