kodiak ld with or without slides? January 06, 2009, 10:41:53 pm Yahoo Message Number: 98393I for one would not buy an ld if it was only available with slides. I recently parked near a Seneca with the slides closed. I asked why? "Too cold in Jan with the slides out." I see a fair number of folks struggling to open or close their slides. The reliability is sometimes an issue. There are problems with water leaks, and ice/leaves building up on top of the slide. And finally, the additional weight decreases cargo capacity which is especially important if you are a fulltimer. The problem with Bornfree is they have a single layer floor which is colder in the winter. A 30 foot Bigfoot is available without slides with a double floor and less/ smaller windows, and therefore better suited for winter use.
