Hello All perhaps I can get some help with this question. We are looking for replacement parts for this vintage awning. In particular we need the main arm connector assy. The part that broke comes off the top of the main arms and consists of a 1/4 inch stud. This part allows the arms to swing up and inserted into the holder below the roller tube. We have the 85 FL model. Thank you for any help.

Hello Mr. or Mrs. Chernefitter (is that your name?).  Did you try calling Dometic customer svc to see if it could help? http://www.dometic.com/enus/Americas/USA/Customer-Support/Contact-us/

Thanks for the tip Chris. John here on this end. I tried to contact A&E Systems on Saturday and found out they were bought out by Dometic a few years back. I also googled the same and found a web site

John, give LD a call.  You might be surprised as to what they have in stock.  They had some used part for my awning but would have ordered new if I requested.

The outlook is not good - I have tried too for our '83, where this model replaced the original less-sturdy model LD had used previously.
I have been able to repair or fabricate minor items, but ours is on its last legs at this point. It is too bad, because I believe the design, materials, and build quality of this model is superior to more recent offerings from Dometic that would be possible replacements.

Thanks for your input Steve. In a stroke of luck after pulling off the support arm I discovered my problem is a easy fix. The 1/4 inch bolt that attaches to the horizontal tube member sheared off. If I drill out two rivets I should be able to install a flat head replacement and be good to go for a few more years.........
