Process for selling LD with delayed delivery
Yahoo Message Number: 88959
Does anyone have experience selling their LD a month or two before they are ready to give it up?
We are selling our LD because we are purchasing a new one.  The new LD will be ready the end of March.

Do you get earnest money as a down payment?
We also have thought about just selling now and renting until the new LD is ready.

Are you full timing?  We sold ours in December and picked up on February 1st but we had our home to hang out in.  Our garage was full of LD "stuff" though.  We loaded up the dinghy with the essentials and drove from Florida to California to pick up.  The trip out was okay but we sured missed traveling in the comforts of the LD.  In and out of motels, hotels, and friends homes gets to be a drag.

Yes, Bob, we are living in our LD for now.  We have a house in Ohio
but are in the SouthWest for the winter.

That is one of the problems.  What do we do with all of our stuff until the new LD is ready.  We have thought about storing it or boxing it up and driving to California.  LD has said that they will hold the boxes until our delivery date.

This topic comes up fairly often, and we've talked about it quite a bit--in fact, there was a discussion as recently as last week. I'd suggest searching this group's website (or Art's Archive--see link on homepage) using the word 'selling'--you'll find lots of relevant posts.
Also, if you haven't already done so, enter our Files area (using the text link at left on every page of the website), open the "Buying & Selling" folder, and peruse the useful information you'll find there.
