high battery water usage January 26, 2008, 11:43:43 pm Yahoo Message Number: 88906Connected to shorepower continuosly. With 14.2v from solar panel had to add water weekly to at least one cell. Without solar fuse, and converter at 13.8v using even more water.Need to disconnect coach batteries from converter and put them on a maintenance charger, while running coach off of converter alone? Batteries are 3 years old.Any comments would be appreciated.mchlfnd

Do a search here for converters - many have replaced the simple stock unit with ones that charge more quickly, and are less likely to overcharge in continuous use. If you have sun on the solar panels, perhaps you don't need shorepower? Also, if it is consistently the same cell losing water, that is a symptom of a bad battery. Usually when one cell is shorted, the best remaining cell will overcharge and boil off liquid.Steve
