Question for those with experience selling their used Lazy Dazes:
How long was your rig on the market? Did you get a lot of inquiries? Were most folks serious buyers?

Thanks in advance for responses! Deb

Deb, Depends on your asking price and the condition of the unit.  I sold mine in about 30 days.  Listing price was about $4000 more than nada average value.
Got about 5 calls and they were all serious inquiries.
Best, TD

Deb,
I went to the LD files in order to find an asking price. I used this as my advertised price, and when we found a serious seller, I lowered the price $4,000 or $5,000-can't remember which. We had many inquiries, some serious, some not. We sold our LD in about six weeks.

The rig I bought (2003 midbath, offered for sale in the summer of 2005) was on the market for 45 minutes before I bought it. Within the next 30 minutes after I called, there were three more serious inquiries. Now, that's probably on the short end of the spectrum, but late-model LDs do tend to sell very quickly. My impression is that in most cases, an LD that's less than three years old will go within a few days. Older rigs, of course, take longer.

"maybe summer is a better time to sell - because this surely hasn't been our experience."

For motorcyles, boats and RVs, spring is generally regarded as the best time to sell.

What do you have? It will depend on the condition, mileage and options.
Even  though it's winter, people are looking for RV's. January and February are the primary RV show month's. People go to the shows and get sticker shock, then come home and start looking for a used one.
The price of gas now doesn't help. When you figure 9-10 mpg, a 100 mile trip is expensive. It also helps where you put your ad. I would put it here and the Boat/RV Trader magazine. A run until sold ad with picture costs $69.00 and it also goes on their RVTraderonline web site.
I just sold a Roadtrek Class B conversion van. I held out for my price and I got it. It took me a month to find a buyer but I got my price and it was $12k over average NADA. Mine was in outstanding condition, had all options and very low mileage.

We have a 2003 26.5 mid-bath w/ 37,500 miles. Great condition. Lots of options and extras. Our for sale file is posted here, on rvtraderonline, and on various other forums where for sale ads are permitted. I guess I'm just getting anxious because our new rig will be ready

Deb, Last year I sold a 2001 26.5RB in 4 days.  Posted on rvtraderonline, I beleive, and had two offers. Your 2003 should sell if it is not over priced.

From a buyers perspective: My experience was very similar to Andy's.
In April 2007 I bought a 2004 MB for asking price within one hour of the ad being placed.
Bought it sight unseen from the Internet listing and talking to the seller on the phone.
That was a Tuesday night and the following Saturday I flew from San Diego to Chicago to pick it up.  By the time I arrived on Saturday the seller had 4-5 back up offers, each more than what I paid the greatest being 12.000.00 more.  Right rig, priced right,
My rig has a generator and I would not want an LD that did not have one.
It also has the luggage rack and I would not want an LD that did not have that either.  As some one else mentioned it is useful to get on and off the ladder when doing roof work.
I have never tried to use it for storage and only use it to support a Wilson Trucker antenna, but more importantly view the rack as a safety feature.

Deb,
We are having a similar problem as you. Our new 30' LD will be ready the end of March.  So we still have a little time.

We put our  26.5 RB Lazy Daze on the market the first of Jan. for $42,900 OBO(below the suggested price of $43,113 in the files section of this website).

We have had one serious caller but it was the wrong floor plan for him.  We have posted in the files of this site, Craigslist, and local newpapers in Phoenix and Tucson. We have not yet tried RV Trader.
The most action that we have received is from the for sale sign that I put on the back of our rig.  People stop to see it because it is, "so beautiful and like new".  The problem is that these people are not familiar with LD and its great quality so they are surprised at the price.

Hi Deb,
I just did a search for your rig on RVTraderonline.com and it did not show up, even when I ran an advanced search.  Maybe you better check your ad...

Woops, maybe you meant RVtrader.com.  I found a couple 2003s there.  I was checking RVtraderonline.com.
