First overnight in our new MB

We just got back from our camping maidenvoyage in our new '07 MB.
It's so nice to be self contained. We arrived a couple hours early to the San Elijo State Beach campground and weren't allowed to check-in.
So we headed about one mile south to the Cardiff SB parking lot and waited there. We cranked up the antenna and watched the Chargers- Patriots game (what a heartbreaker) with an awesome view of the beach out our windows. At half-time we walked out to poke around the tidepools. After the game we headed back to the campground and were set up again in no time. We saw two other LDs while walking around that evening. One pretty old ('80s I'm guessing) and another MB just like ours but a 1990. It's owned by Dan (Hi Dan!). We had a great chat about the differnces between our rigs and how great & solid LDs are (he's on his 3rd).
 Everything on the trip great except for a beeping noise that woke us up at 6am. I thought one of the various monitoring alarms was going off (no kitchen timers in our rig just yet ;-). I (Tanya) staggered down the ladder from the overhead bed (I'm not very adept at getting down yet) to search out the unexpected 'wake up call'. It turned out to be the atomic clock that LD velcro'd on the wall in the hall. Of course you have to take the clock down to get at the buttons and there isn't anything clearly marked to turn the alarm off so I just pushed buttons until it stopped hoping that I didn't hit a snooze button instead of off (there's no way I wanted to get out of bed again in 5 min). It worked (at least for today). I still have to figure out how to turn off the alarm completely. It's not in the LD manual so I have to dig through the stack of owner's manuals to find the clock instructions or go online to the mfg site. I guess the clock must have been going off every morning for the past week since we picked her up at the factory. I'm happy the LD is so well insulated that my neighbors haven't been hearing it every day before sunrise! Awesome....  I have reservations at Doheny for our anticipated first trip....   San Elijo is on my short list also....

 A great way to see what others have done to their rigs is to attend a Caravan Club outing at least once. You can get more info at the Lazy Daze Caravan Club website through the "Links" on this site.
