CB Antenna

OK, Techies, I need some advice.  Just got a Cobra 75 WX ST CB radio.  Now I need an antenna to go with it.  There is a bracket "cemented" to the roof where I can easily fasten one.
What should I be looking for in an antenna - ground-plane vs non-ground plane?  Does it matter stop an LD?  Anything else I should consider?

Thanks in advance, Toad '05 RB  NE-13 Chsrlton MA

Hi, Sorry it took so long. I just got around to reading all my LD e-mail. Anyway, I have an answer to your query. You can get this antenna, which is exactly like the one LD installs on their coaches:
Go on-line and search for Walcott CB. Look for a 4ft Low Profile CB Antenna, model MS48 $14.95 http://www.walcottcb.com/ms48-4ft-low-profile-cb-antenna-motorcycles-pickup-trucks-p-1714.html

Thanks, Rollins.  I ended up installing a Firestik non-ground plane antenna.  With the help of an SWR meter, the CB works very well.  You're right about the audio output quality - not great.  Eventually I'll add an external speaker as you suggest.

Ted, I know you've already figured this out, but for others who may be antenna shopping... because the Lazy Daze has a metal roof, there's no need for an antenna that has its own ground plane.
