Gordon,
We've been to both the Owl and the Buckhorn, they're right across the street from each other.  Sorry but we MUCH prefer the Buckhorn!

Have you tried the Buckhorn?

Kate,

No, I haven't tried the Buckhorn and it has been some months since we stopped at the Owl. We will give the Buckhorn a try next time going through.

Thanks,

Gordon

(But I know not everyone cares as much about panoramic views as I do.)
LD's windows are the first thing that drew my attention and made me want to look further at the Lazy Daze brand to begin with.  I have a brochure from Winnebago for their 2008 View and I was looking at it the other day thinking "what's the point?"  Besides all the other advantages LD offers, why would anyone want to have an RV like the View that has so few and such dinky windows?  Front, side, back, whatever... LD's got it going on when it comes to windows on a Class C.

I reckon I'll go through the Florida RV show pretty quickly.  Even though I have yet to see an LD in person, I've read enough to know I'll probably walk in and walk right out of every Class C I see at the show because they will pale in comparison to what I have learned thus far about LDs.  I'm really hankering for March and the SE LD GTG in Jax.

Wolffie (is that really your name?)

Our very first rig was a late 70s Chinook which had huge windows on both sides, kind of like our current rigs living room.  Because we were so ignorant of RV design, we figured this was normal!

Our 2nd rig was an 88 Tioga and we quickly learned the value of windows (since the Tioga had so few).  It was close to the top of wants when we decided to start looking for a new rig.

When we saw the 30TB, we knew t was it,  We have great windows

Since you've been there in San Antonio, have you had an oportunity to partake of the hamburgers served in the old hotel. I've heard (second hand) that they are something special. I also understand that that is the original Hilton establishment, owned and operated by Mr. Hilton the elder and was where Conrad got his start. Please confirm!

Kate,

My name is Sue Ann, but with a last name like Wolff, everyone calls me wolffie.  It especially stuck in my motorcycling days, but those are behind me for now.
I hadn't even thought about the benefit of having big, ol' windows in the living area AND the sleeping area of a 30'.  Being as it will just be me, I've been leaning toward a 23.5 TK with the living area and kitchen area all together there in the back by the windows.  I don't really need the extra, separate living space that a couple might desire.  No matter how I try, I can't get away from myself ;)

Even if I find another brand that has nice windows, I know LD is still the highest rated and highest quality Class C I'm going to find.  I know their prices are higher and a used one will be hard to find if I want to buy used, but I've never been one to skimp due to price.  I've learned over the years it's never about money.  Money's just dirty paper and they make more of it every day :)

Don,

I've been asking myself exactly the same question for the last few weeks.  I am also planning to order a brown 08 MB, and not in the hurry.  I visited LD three times this year; talked to Ed, Steve, and Todd.  Could have ordered a 07 but liked the 08's look better, so decided to wait for it.

According to Steve, blue and brown are the two colors that will resist fading better than other colors, and they require least maintenance effort.  Brown happens to be my favorite among LD's exterior color choices; I like it's low-key, classic, and hides dirt well.  Just wish the beige was a little lighter to show a better contrast between beige and brown.

I decided to wait a little longer to let LD gain more practice on O8s, give Steve time to resolve the valve extension issue, finish reading "How to select, inspect, and buy an RV", wait to see what Joan will report in her "The Long Road to a Lazy Daze - Part 4", and take a look in Andy's "Eureka!".  None of these are deal-breakers, but since I am in no hurry, I feel I can use the wait time to gain more information and understanding on LD and RVing.

Best luck to you on whatever you decide to do.

Elaine You can pick any interior that LD offers for the brown exterior. Perhaps another color other than beige.
