Transmission Temperatures
Yahoo Message Number: 87490
My Scan Gage II with updated software will report the temperature of the oil in the 4R100 transmission of my 2000 SOB 31' w/slide towing a 1998 Toyota RAV-4.  We took a trip to Tucson over Christmas which is the first trip since having the software upgrade.  The transmission temperatures generally ran between 155 and 165 degrees with an outside air temperature of about 60 degrees.  On the 6% grade from Black Rock City, AZ up I-17 to the Sunset Summit Rest Area it went up to 190 degrees which is still within the preferred temperature range.  Next test is to drain out the FoMoCo Mercon and replace it with Mobil 1 to see what difference that would make.  Just thought that you'd like to know.
