It's official! My wife and I will pick up our 2007 23.5' FD on January 11.  We're excited and looking forward to it...except the part about getting back to Oregon through the mountains in January!  But we'll get some chains or cables and hopefully be prepared. It'll be a great test of the LD's handling reputation.   Advice welcome! Dick and Linda

I'm not sure I would go down the chains road.  The duals would be a pain to chain up.  I would be more of the inclination that if you are coming to a snowy pass, spend some time in the nearest town camping out until the road is cleared.  Also, motorhomes get really good traction as they are very heavy, and you have duals.  Or, you could take the 101 highway, shouldn't be any snow on that.

Chaining up your new LD is really easy should it be necessary. Take a short piece of 2x6 with you about 12'' long and run the inside dual up on the block. Then slip your tire chain on and tighten using chain tighteners. I've done this for years on motor-homes and semi's and it works great. Enjoy your new toy!

"Congratulation" on your new 23.5'FD. We got ours Sept 11.
Take your time to make sure everything is ok. Check paint for overspray and faucets for leaks and anything that moves, locks opens and closes. All fit and finish. Get ready to have people looking at you and giving tours. I don't know if is your first RV or 10th so don't know what else to say. What color did you get? And Enjoy. PS if you want to you could add yourself to LD locations and Delivery times.
