Mixing Bowls

We just purchased a dandy collapsable 5 qt mixing bowl.  It appears to be strong, sturdy, and packs down to about 1 1/2 inches tall.  Looks to be a real space saver, and is dishwashe safe.  Not that we have that device in our LDs, but must mean something about its construction.
They come in 3 sizes, and by going to Amazon.com, and searching for "collapsable bowls" you will find them.  Ours just arrived, so has not yet been put to the test, but initially we are well pleased, and all for about $15.00.

I saw a set of 3 at Costco the last time I went in.
Was thinking the same thing about space saving, but I am only a weekender, not a fulltimer and don't have to worry about space.  One important item to note, they are NOT micowave safe.

Similarly, they have collapsible colanders (strainers) now at B,B & Beyond and a few other places (Walmart?).  I ended up getting the Kate- recommended CW cooking set that has the strainer holes

And here's a collapsible colander without a handle: http://snipurl.com/1uuoc

That looks like a nice one...easy to clean.
I bought one of these: http://tinyurl.com/2thxf2 and really dislike it.
While it does fold flat to save space, it's difficult to get it to remain open while you're pouring hot liquids into it and it's a real PITA to clean.
I want to get rid of it and get a different kind of colander...the one in Tessa's link looks like one I'd like to have.  Does anyone know if this is sold in stores?  Since we are fulltime RVers, we have no place to have packages sent other than to our mail forwarding address, which means we have to pay to have it forwarded.  I'd rather walk into a store and buy it.

or you could just go out to eat!

Now, that's the best idea of all, Tessa!

Thanks for the links, Tessa!
I'm not certain the one that Williams-Sonoma or Macy's has would fit in my sink...it's 13.5" wide, and my kitchen sink is just a shade short of that.
Of course, being plastic, I might be able to wedge it in.  I wonder if a store would let me take it out to the RV to give it a try? ;-)
The only store currently anywhere near us is Bed, Bath & Beyond in Las Cruces...there is no Crate & Barrel in New Mexico and the Williams-Sonoma and Macy's are up in Albuquerque.  Maybe we'll drive into Las Cruces when we're staying at Leasburg Dam State Park sometime early next year.  Or, we'll wait until we return to Arizona on our way up north this spring...all those stores are in either Tucson or Phoenix.
