Tire door nut

Bruce. Best is to clean off the end of the bolt you have left, restore a washer, lock washer and nut and see if you can get it tight enough to not spin again. I would use a fully threaded hex standoff over the end of the short bolt, to provide a splice to a new bolt (threaded rod). A stainless version is about $3. In addition this would provide a stop to prevent squishing the tire door down against the back wall of the motorhome. Alternatively the standoff provides a female thread so that a bolt could be used instead of the acorn nut. Mcaster Carr has a online catalog. Ron and Bluebelle a '99, 23.5 TKB
