cold weather in VA March 30, 2006, 05:51:13 pm Yahoo Message Number: 64792Fern: One year I spent a sabbatical in Morgantown, WV (WVU) where it gets cold. Skirted Prowler TT with 3/4in plywood "chipped corners, cracked--etc--i.e. cheap--but sawed-off imperfections" nailed to 2 X 4s at joints/corners. Painted all wood white. Heat taped external water connection and water pipe(s) under TT. Got 100-250(?) gal propane tank...it was HUGE and left temp setting at 40F during Christmas/Spring breaks (went home to be w/family). Disconnected water hose and left inside TT. Worked for me. One problem...couldn't get sta-wgn up the snowy-frozen hills sometimes and had to walk or hitchhike "w/neighbors who had 4 X 4s".Dec. 05 was in Scotland when temp went to 14F at current home in w/TX. LD un-winterized [i.e. fresh water still in tank) but "no problem". LD's can take brief cold spells w/out winterizing. Lucky us.My wife and I previously worked "VT" (uh...was called VPI then) and lived in Blacksburg. Go Hokies.Go girl...you can make it in your LD.Carroll Carter
