Photos of late model mid bath LD show two rear sofa/beds which appear soft and bolstered.
I like a flat hard surface for sleeping and suspect that I would find the beds in this model uncomfortable.
I'd appreciate any feedback on my assumption and if anyone has found a way to firm and flatten these cushions.

Thanks,

Unless something's changed in recent models, turn the cushions over for a firm bed.

I also like a firm mattress. I found the rear sofas to be more comfortable than my new Sealy mattress at home.

I also like a firm bed and we use the sofa/bed in our RB and love it.
We did try turning the cushions over for the "firmer" side, but did not like it as well. We use a large, unzipped sleeping bag for a pad, with a sheet on it, and it works fine. We don't find the set up and take down, to be too time comsuming or problematic.
I am sure you will find it comfortable.

While we have a 23.5' Twin/King, it has the same couches in the back as the Mid-Bath.  I find the cushions to be *very* firm...in fact, too firm for me to sleep comfortably, so I have a 2" memory foam mattress pad to sleep on that I bought from Costco.  I don't feel the *ridges* in the couch like you think you would from looking at them.

Thermarest inflatible camping mattresses are great.  We use the in the camper and you can make then as firf or soft as you wish.  The advantage is they roll up flat for storage and are self inflating.

REI is a good place to check them out.
