Does anyone have the Weber Baby Q grill?  We're needing to buy a portable one to fit inside the front passenger compartment and love our large Weber.  Any help or suggestions?  Can it be hooked up to the propane tank of the Lazy Daze?  We have a 96 30ftIB.
Thanks, Lisa

I  have the 26 1/2' MB and use the Weber Baby Q grill and it works great. After buying another brand and returning it I bought the babyQ and put it under the dinette seat.

Yes, it can...with some modification to the tank.
Before we left Quartzsite this spring, we had an Extend-A-Stay put on our Lazy Daze's 10-gallon propane tank so that we could attach a larger, portable propane tank.  That way, while we were camp hosting, we wouldn't have to break camp to drive the LD 15 miles, one way, to fill the tank...we could just have the portable propane tank filled, instead.  The Extend-A-Stay has an extra hookup so that a BBQ can be added, too.  We used it while we were camp hosting so that we didn't have to use those little propane canisters.

We use the Baby Q and store it under the dinette seat in our 26.5 MB.  I like the cast iron grate much better than the wire grates on most of the other small grills because it holds the heat so well.  I am happy with the way it cooks.

I modified it to allow use of the 16.4 oz. propane cylinders by taking off the wire that supports the smaller 14.1 oz. tanks.
The larger cylinders usually cost at least a dollar less than the smaller ones.  I am sure a connecter could be mounted on the LD propane system for it but we haven't attempted that.

We used to connect our BBQs to the individual, portable propane tanks in our fifth wheels using a special hose made for the purpose.  However, Earl says that the propane tank in the LD is plumbed differently than the ones in our previous fifth wheels, and we wouldn't be able to hook up a BBQ to the tank the same way we did before without the Extend-A-Stay.

We have the Baby Q and really like it.  We have an MB and store it under the dinette which is the only place it seems to fit.  You have to drop it in from the top as it will not slide in from the outside unless you take the lid off.  It gets a little awkward loading and unloading from the top taking the cushion and board off each time.  If other MB owners have found a better way to store, please reply.

Joe, Don't know if it is a better way or not, but I remove the top and store it in the right rear outside storage.  The top comes off really easily (I put a couple of saftey pins on the hinge pins to make it easier to remove them, and to make it easier to find them when they fall into the grass).
It may be a little more trouble than the cheap propane grills I used to use, but it is well worth it when you sit down to eat!  I also removed the wire tank holder so that I can use the bigger, cheaper disposable propane tanks.  Would like to hook it up to the LD tank, but it looks to be a fairly major project.  Maybe next year.

Lisa,

You might also look at the Weber Gas Go-Anywhere® portable grill.
I have used mine for over a year and am more than satisfied with it.
Ours stores easily in our left rear outside compartment. Here is a link for the grill:

and a link to compare the Weber Baby Q and Go-Anywhere gas grill features side by side:

This is the one we have, too, and have been very happy with it.
Another thing we got this spring at the Escapade was a Grill Guard -- www.grillguard.com .  We had put off it's purchase for years, and finally bit the bullet at the Escapade.  It's well worth the money!  Helps the grill burn hotter, thus taking less time to cook and using less propane.

Absolutely 'Yes', you can do that very thing.
I also have a 30'IB. I use the Broil King Porta Chef grill (#21128 @ Camping World) although I did give serious consideration to the Baby Q.

I carry my grill in the large front compartment just behind the passenger cab door. It's like it was made for that purpose.

To connect to the coach LP tank I've inserted a "Tee" connector (#24024 @ Camping World) into the outlet line. Because the LP tank is on the drivers side I use two 12' hoses (#24038 @ CW), connect them together and toss them underneath the coach to the passenger side. Once the grill is assembled the only item needed is a "Steak Saver" (#24028 @ CW), an adapter to connect the old style POL hose to the new style POL nut on the grill. Because I'm not all that familiar with the Webber grill you may or may not need this adaptor.

Happy trails and good grilling.

Nothing worse the running out of gas part way through a meal. A word of  advise.
Keep 1 disposable tank on hand.

Earl is right Linda, we just went through getting ours hooked up so we can use the onboard propane tank for the barbeque. You have to tie into the tank before the regulator which is the box on the front of the tank. Our onboard stuff (reefer, water heater, stove) use propane at low pressure and a barbeque needs it to be higher pressure. The Extend-a-Stay is what we just got after going down another road that tied off the reefer line and which would not work. They're kidding us here at the Balloon Fiesta rally that we are the ones that try all these things, make the mistakes and let everyone else learn from them. So, to continue that tradition, let me assure you all that the Extend-a-Stay installed before the regulator is the way to go.

We also just ordered a new grill on the recommendation of Mike Sylvester the RV Guy who fixed our propane line. Here is the web site http://www.grill4all.com/ I haven't gotten it yet but he raved about it. I like that it is all stainless steel (we hang out in tropical humid salt-air type places), and that is has the collapsable/expandable legs that will raise it to waist level. It also compacts pretty well for storage, it will be slightly smaller than our Weber when stored. I'll let you know how it works when we get it.

We are getting the Weber Q, not baby; friends have it and we and they love it.  Fits snug as a bug

Thanks everyone.  We decided to buy the Weber Baby Q.  We found a great deal on it that includes the rolling duffel bag, cover and adaptor kit. We checked here locally and had to order via internet as the price was much better.  We can't wait to barbque those steaks.
Can you smell them?
