To the mothership

After years of research and a year of lurking on this site, which by the way is the best source of good reliable information that I have been able to find anywhere, we are going out to the mother ship the end of this week.
The trip to get this far hasn't been without detours such as looking at other motor homes and even getting real close to a 5th wheel purchase but thanks to all of you it looks like a LD in our future.
I have to admit I am a little apprehensive but not about the quality and reliability of the LD but I guess I am a little shy about joining such a great group.  Everyone is so knowledgeable and seems like such a close-knit group but that is one of the perks of buying a LD.

Thanks for the help and we are looking forward to our visit and probable purchase.

Terry

Terry, some of us (me) are mere mortals, relying heavily on the "brains" of the group ;-). We're not close knit to the point where we exclude any newcomers. New members bring fresh ideas.

It's more like "joining a cult" than "joining a close-knit group" ;)

And some of us never leave, even when we are no longer Lazy Daze owners!  ;->

And some of us have been very warmly welcomed even though we don't even own an RV, let alone an LD!!!  These are very special people.

Roz, the Wannabe still filled with hope ... sigh!

Roz,
You are so right about the warm welcome.  Thank you Paul, Karen and Judie and all the rest in this fine group.
I am so anxious to go that I may have to quit work and go sit in the airport for the next two days until my flight leaves.

Terry, the gonna be

Terry, Just a warning! Don't read any of the earlier posts from Sarah, Lorna, Jonna, Linda, Judie, Ken & Patty etc., etc. about their fulltime travels. It's downright dangerous.
Read Andy's "Travel's with Gertie" and you can follow a semi - sane rational man's descent into the decadent life of a fulltime RVer ;-). The lifestyle sticks to your ribs better than oatmeal.

As everyone knows, the prospects of trying to unjoin a cult are fearful to  contemplate....

best,  paul

Some cults you never want to leave and this appears to be one.

I think I will take my chances.  With as many members as this group has at least I will have lots of company.

Thanks

Terry

We are looking forward to the trip.  We will be leaving Thursday around noon and hope to be in the factory first thing Friday morning and proabably saturday.

Can't wait to get there and yes we will let you know how it went.

Thanks

Terry

Karen,
Thanks for the warning.  If I understand correctly, Andy is the only sane person in the group.

I dunno...some people might disagree with you on that. Sometimes I wonder myself... ;-)

"Where is Rat City? Is that a nickname for Raton, NM?"
Yup, I made it up on the spot. ;-) As you know, 'raton' is Spanish for 'rat'--the Raton Pass was named for the many pack rats that early explorers found here. Excepting myself, though, I haven't seen any. ;-)

While you are "stuck" in Raton I sincerely hope that you will pay a visit to the NRA's "Whittington Center". I was there a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed a Cowboy Action Shoot event, one of several venues on site. This is the premier shooting center in the United States.

Did not know we had some gun enthusiasts on the board.
I'm an NRA member and my company is an NRA business alliance associate of the org.
