newbie/lurker intro and question

Hi all--been reading and learning for about the past three weeks. Finally got my JD Gallant book, along with my RVConsumer membership and all the other info that comes with it, and after reading thru it, realized I had already chosen the best coach for me when I picked Lazy Daze!
I'm 56, female, soon-to-be-single, and I have a Dobermann girlfriend that is a body part. I used to be a operating engineer, farmer, and computer geekster when we still used DOS instead of windows GUIs--so I'm probably back to being an intermediate what with all the new stuff happening...the discussions on amps, volts, current, sat.s batteries, etc. leaves my head spinning.
I have a 1985 30ft. Southwind now, and have had and used it for nearly ten years. Enough is enough--grin!
For one reason or another, it has been a constant $$ pit--not always the coach's fault, but more often, the fault of people who worked on it causing MAJOR problems on down the road. And being female, and new to RVing, I didn't know any better.

I do now!
I am looking for a 1997-2001 or ? 26 1/2 ft. MB, hopefully with low miles and all the extras I'd order if I could afford a new one [I know--dream on!]. But I can dream, OK?
My question is this: I have no desire to tow a toad, but I would like to know if anyone else pulls an enclosed storage-type trailer? Like a U Haul container on wheels? It would solve some of my long term storage problems if I could tow my "storage" with me....
Like I said, I've done a few thousand miles RVing already, and I have a really good idea of what I want to take along for extending traveling--not necessarily full-timing per se, because I want to go see and visit folks and family I haven't had the pleasure of seeing for a long, long time.

I have a mental image of custom built shelves, bins, and racks inside...wieght of the trailer, plus load, on the tongue--how to calculate? How would it impact gas mileage? Handling? wear and tear on the engine and drive train, the brakes?

Anyone out there tried this yet?

Anyway, hello to all, glad to be here!
