To cover or not to cover, that's the question...
Yahoo Message Number: 57121
Greetings All!
Now that we have our new 26.5 mb home safe and sound on her concrete pad, we've been pondering whether we will cover her for the winter or not. (Sorry to be talking about winter!). We live in eastern Massachusetts, where the winters seem to be trending colder with more snow every year. We used to cover our old Fleetwood with one of the high quality, water 'resistant', breathable covers. That was essential because that RV loved to randomly spring leaks. What are your thoughts for the LD? My biggest incentive is anything I can do to maintain the integrity of seams and joints to avoid water problems over the long haul. My bottom line question for the experts: Does covering an RV in the winter to keep it water tight? In the summer, there's obviously no way I'm going to put a cover over it when not in use. (I use it too often). What are you thoughts on those steel framed shelters that look like a car port? My problem with those is they're ugly, expensive and won't be highly regarded by the neighbors.

Thanks!

Rob

Good questions.

While not an answer, here is a way that may work.

Maybe.

Contact your local Boat Storage Yard.
Many now offer a heavy weight shrink wrap cover that "should" seal the roof and cabin down to the door frame. You'll want to have an entry point.

Downside would be roof mounted antenna's, AC, etc.

Worth a call.
