Dashboard Covers and Floor mats August 09, 2005, 12:40:49 pm Yahoo Message Number: 56639We are looking at dashboard covers and floor mats, so I have a few questions. I have noticed (and heard) that many dashboard covers reflect into the windshield, and this seems true of the lighter colors particularly. Since the factory only sells grey, we are looking into black dashboard covers. Has anyone tried any other brand or color other than the one sold at the factory? We are hoping for less reflection and have found both a velour and a fake suede. Has anyone tried these? When I go through the lists, does anyone know if I would just pick the 2005 Ford E450?Now, as to floor mats. . . Are the ones sold at the factory rubber or carpet? And what color are they? And do they say Lazy Daze on them?Any input into any of this is appreciated.Kate (13 Days and counting . . .)

Kate, As others have posted, the LD dashboard cover is a good quality one. It's gray but doesn't reflect. It fastens fairly securely with the enclosed velcro strips. On the passenger side, I slide our clipboard (with the map we're using that day) under the cover. The clipboard stays put until I need it. Plus, anything we place on the dash doesn't slide around as easily. We think it was worth the cost.Ilene2004 26.5MB 'Red Zoe'

While driving, our dashboard is naked; when parked, we use truck-sized sun shield on the inside, and/or the vinyl bonnet on the outside. For floor mats, we bought a one piece Ford E350 floor mat from JC Whitney. It was $50 and does a good job of covering the floor
Dashboard Covers and Floor mats Reply #5 – August 09, 2005, 04:28:13 pm Yahoo Message Number: 56650QuoteThe floor mats sold at the factory are black rubber with the Lazy Daze name on them. They must have changed them, then, since we picked up our LD in July 2004. At that time, they came in two colors: gray and brown, both rubber. We thought we'd want the brown because our interior and carpet is brown, but after trying both colors out in the LD, we decided to go with the gray to match the dashboard. As far as the dashboard cover sold by Lazy Daze, we have not found that it reflects up into the windshield...it's made of a carpet-like material, not something that's smooth that would reflect. It's also very high quality. We didn't buy it to begin with, and when we decided we wanted one, we went to a place in Quartzsite that advertised dashboard covers for about $25. They brought out a cheesy-looking piece of felt. We then ordered one from the factory. If you think you want one, Kate, I would suggest getting it while you're at the factory because shipping charges are outrageous!Linda Hylton2004 Red 23.5' TKFish Lake, Steens Mountain (near Frenchglen, OR) See where we are: http://map.datastormusers.com/user2.cfm?user=1167

When I bought my 2003, I wanted the mats, however, in checking the underside, they do not have the little "grabbers" and will slip around on the floor. Which can be very annoying.Pat (Mac) No Calif
