Where to Stay after Pick Up

Well Folks, I've been trying to lay low, but we're still hoping to get the new rig sometime in August (hope truly does spring eternal . . .) so we are making some tenative plans.
What we'd like to do is pick up the rig, then stay somewhere close to the factory for a day or two to check the whole thing out, just in case we need to fine tune anything.
I've searched the forum, looked at the "places to camp" database, and looked at the Lazy Daze Factory Resources sheet, which lists a couple of places near the factory.
So my question is this.  Can anyone recommend someplace fairly nice but inexpensive within 20 miles or so of the Factory?  We are Elks and also plan to take a look into lodges in the area.  We'd like something secure and clean, but a lot of amenities aren't really necessary.
Also, not to dredge up old threads, but are those of you who had Chuck the Tiremans valve-stems installed by someone other than Chuck still happy with your installations after a year or two?  We would love to have him install the  stems, but are hoping to avoid the trip to Ridgecrest, so we are exploring all our options.

Joan, Thanks for this link, but we are hoping for something a bit more "economical"

Kate: We picked up our 23.5 FD last December, and have the Borg's stems installed in Pete's Road Service in Fullerton, 20 miles southwest of factory.  It's a commercial tire place.  The place was recommend by Borg's tire supply.  The business hours are from 6 am to about 5pm.  It took about 3 1/2 hours for them to install.  The cost was reasonable(about $160 including stems).  I just checked the pressures of all tires, they are all good.

Hi Kate, My recommendation would be that you look no farther than The Ontario Elk's Lodge for a place to stay near the factory.  It is easy to find.  Head east on Mission.  Turn left on Mountain AV and go north to 4th.  Head west on 4th about a block and the lodge is on your right (north) side.  You will have a nice retail shopping area to the east and a well kept residential area to the west.  We have stayed there many times.  The price is right and they serve excellent dinners. Water and electric are available. "KD" will make a reservation for you if you like. Give her a call at 909 984 2777.
I had Chuck install my first set of extra long metal valve stems and I was completely satisfied with his work.  Last time I had them installed at Pete's Road Service in Fullerton and am satisfied with their work as well.  Pete's is fairly close to a Camping World facility and that worked well for us.

Best wishes for your delivery, Nate Walker 2005 30TB Tacoma

When we went to the factory to look at LDs and order one, we stayed at the Elks Lodge in Ontario, and is very near the factory.  They have 14 water & electric sites.  A dump is nearby.  I assume you have a copy of Carmichael's Elkdom Travel Guide I...all the information on this lodge, and others, is in this publication.

Thanks, this is actually what we are looking at.  Yes we do have the Elks guide and have made great use of it over the years (have you ever stayed at the Lodge in Oceana?  It's wonderful).

We were just hoping for some sort of recommendation, which you have provided, so this will most likely be where we stay.

Thanks and hope to see you at the LaDeze get together (all this assuming we get a call from the Factory!).
