Help with the Refrigerator Check Light February 13, 2005, 10:41:08 pm Yahoo Message Number: 50749When the refrigerator is running on gas the check light comes on after a minute and the gas light goes out. I lit the water heater to check to see if the gas was working and to be sure that the air is out of the gas line. This does not seem to be the problem. Has anyone else had this problem with the check going on and the gas going off and what do you think it might be?Thanks in advance,Fred
Re: Help with the Refrigerator Check Light Reply #1 – February 13, 2005, 11:57:34 pm Yahoo Message Number: 50750Fred, I have experienced the same thing on occasion. I light the burner(s) on the stove & then after lighting each burner I turn them all off & try the fridge again. If it still kicks off, I'll turn it off then back on. That seems to work for us. The only other time was when I was plugging in to shore power prior to a trip to chill it & it wouldn't indicate electric. After some fuse checking it turned out to be the GFI breaker. Hope this might be of some assistance. Good LuckSylvia H "The DogHouse" '96 30 IB

An RV service guy suggested we switch it to the electric mode and let it run for about 15 minutes and then try switching it over to gas.I knock on wood as I say this but so far it's worked every time.Good luck.Helen

Fred, we had a similar problem with our Dometic refrigerator in our first RV...in fact, it happened to us on 3 different occasions. One time, it was the thermocouple which needed to be replaced. On the other 2 occasions, it was the board which needed to be replaced. The first time the board was replaced, it was replaced with another Dometic board (which are known for problems). The second time, we had it replaced with a Dinosaur Board. We had no further problems with the refrigerator after that.Linda & Earl 2004 23.5' Red TK From Quartzsite, AZ
