Deleting sales info and photos.
Yahoo Message Number: 50580
Dear Oryoki and all moderators, Thanks for all the help with your weekly sales posts, Etc.
Due to this fantastic group site , we were able to aquire a lighting fast sale of our 1997 25.5ft MB LD. so we could purchase a 2001 30ft IB.
Please feel free to delete any sales info or photos that you feel are "excess baggage".You may want to concider leaving several photos of this prime example of a MB rig? I now am even more convenced that "pictures say a thousand words" These photos really did help sell our LD. Also we had several inquries about our stationary rear pillowtop mattress arrangement shown in several photos, that you might want to leave for any future people considering different bed & sleeping options.

Thanks again for all the work you guys (and gals) do to keep this "hotbed" of LD info alive and well.

Sorry folks, Someone deleted all of our photos of the 1997 25.5 MB we had for sale. Guess one of moderators found no value

Sorry, Dan--nothing personal! We have to constantly keep on top of the Photos area, because of our very limited storage space. So we routinely delete all photos that are related to a for-sale ad just as soon as we know the rig has been sold.. Your pictures evidently got caught in that housekeeping sweep, even though it sounds as if one or more might have been of general interest. Feel free to re-upload the ones you think people will want to see.
In the long run, we plan to discourage the use of this group's Photos area for sale-related photos--again, because it's a constant battle to keep below our maximum allotted storage space, and because it means ever more housekeeping work for the moderators. There are plenty of places on the web that will host photo albums for free--including other parts of Yahoo--so at some point fairly soon we will establish an official policy that text "for-sale" ads are fine (because they occupy negligible storage space), but photos of rigs for sale must go elsewhere.
The storage-limits issue is also why you'll find very few albums containing "full size" images in the Photos area. We routinely delete those larger images, leaving only the small ones, because they are a major contributor to "storage bloat." One recently uploaded album contained more than a dozen "full size" images, each of which was 400K-500K in size! That one album ate up 10% of the whole group's storage...and it wasn't the only one like that. That's why we delete virtually all full-sized photos.
That's a long-winded answer, but you get the gist: nobody was passing judgment on the merits of your pictures; they were just deleted as part of normal housekeeping, along with the now-unneeded "for-sale" ad that they linked to.

Makes sense to me. Thanks for the reply.
