50,000 messages, who will the winner be?

Since I like to polish my own rig, I will try to become the poster of the #50,000 and win all the prizes. And avoid Chris having to FF my rig.

Sorry Chris H!

Well, Steve, it's looks like you and I were the only ones interested in this quickly forgotten contest.  We'll just have to discuss the payoff offline.

In any event, 50,000 messages is a lot in just a few short years.
It's going to be tough for any new members to review all the messages as it used to be convenient to do.  Of course, now we have Art's archive which makes it easier.

Even though there have been 50,000 message IDs assigned, there are actually fewer in the archives.  The archive starts at msg #13 and there are quite a few holes due to deleted msgs.  Also in the early days when this was a "Yahoo Club", some glitch caused several of the earliest messages to be duplicated multiple times (with different msg IDs).  I haven't found the time and energy to try to weed out those duplicates.
Maybe I'll write a utility to report the actual number of messages and report that and the highest msg ID every time I do an update.

But I agree that the numbers are impressive, especially when one consider the quality of the information content.
