 I'll second Lorna's recommendation of the Dana Stabenow novels...great reading, particularly if you're interested in Alaska.
 And, as Lorna said, the Milepost is a "must have" for an Alaska trip -- even though we've been there twice, we'll pick up another copy when we go again.
