Does anyone else have trouble with the font size and contrast of the messages on this site. I am going blind trying to read the text ....I am using a Mac Powerbook and everthing else is readable except the text of the messages. Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

John

So glad you brought this up.  Yes, the font is very tiny and dim, so I go to the "view" option and zoom in.  Then I have to zoom out aga

John - No problem here (Mac user), and I know that some of our Mac Power users like Jonna, Andy, et al, will have a fix for you. Mine just works.

Just a word that might help the power users diagnose the problem--my Mac using OSX does fine, but my powerbook with OS 9 sees the tiny text and causes me to go to view and enlarge the text.

John (and Joanne), I read these messages on three different Macs, and I'm particularly sensitive to tiny type...but I don't see that here. I also don't see any difference in font size between the message screens and the reply screen.
However, there is a difference: the Yahoo reply screen uses a proportionally spaced font, while the message screens use a monospaced (fixed-width) font. This is something that a group moderator has no control over, by the way; there are no font settings of any kind in this group's Management section. That's up to you and your browser.
I use Apple's Safari browser, with my standard font set to Lucida Grande 12 and my fixed- width font set to Monaco 12. These settings are found under Safari > Preferences > Appearance. If your fixed-width font were set to, say, Monaco 10, it could account for the tiny type on the message screens that you described...but you can easily change this in your preferences. Give it a try!
Incidentally, if you just want to temporarily boost the type size on a web page, there's no need to resort to pull-down menus. Just hold down the Apple (command) key and press + to enlarge or - to reduce. I often do this on PC-based web pages, which sometimes have minuscule type.

On the other hand, if you're stuck with Windows but are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser (and you should in preference to IE), just type "Ctrl +" (i.e. hold Ctrl key and type "+" in the numeric pad area) and the font will be increased.  You can do this more than once.  Use "Ctrl -" to decrease the font size.

Firefox is free and available from:
 http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

There are versions for Windows, Linux, and Macs.  It's several megabytes, so if you're on a dial-up connection, you may want to buy the CD.
