"I did turn up a lot of cab ceiling mounted holders for cowboy hats, but they would not work for my needs."

Can you tell us a bit more about why not, Sharon? The ones I've turned up (e.g.,http://bitnspurtack.com/hatholbrmoun.html>) are made of lariat rope and look simple enough. I guess the main difference between them and the wire type is that the rope holders surround the crown of the hat completely, while the wire holders only go halfway around. Is that a problem? I'm trying to visualize why these rope ceiling holders would not be suitable, but not having seen your red hats I can't be certain where the difficulty lies.

The rope-type holder would work for my red cowboy hat, but the brims on the rather flamboyant red hats are upturned all the way around.
If I use one of the rope-type holders they would crush the brim.
The wire might work, depending on how it is shaped.  I did find a wall mount rack on the Internet last night, and ordered two.  I don't know whether I'll use one in the LD or not, but I can use them at home, anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion!
