You can access the City Navigator North America v.6 database--the same one used in the Garmin StreetPilot 2610/2620 products--at:

Might be interesting to look up your Quartzsite neighborhood there, and see whether they have a more accurate rendition than Mapquest!

Andy, I went to the Garmin website to check our little area of Quartzsite.
Nope, it's wrong, too!  In fact, it's pretty much the same map as I saw on MapQuest.

I gather that you really don't want a GPS.
Nevertheless, I should point out that if you already have a laptop you can get a GPS that talks to you for a lot less than $1000.  The Delorme Earthmate and Street Atlas software can be had for $129.

Well, as I mentioned, we DO have a GPS -- a Garmen eTrex hand-held one.  We mostly use it to get coordinates for our satellite Internet and for locations of Elks Clubs when we post to the SKP Elks Yahoo and would take it with us when hiking to make sure we find our way back. :-)
However, you're right...a GPS to guide us as we travel down the road is low on our list of "must haves."  But, I will look into the Delorme Earthmate & Street Atlas software -- $129 is more down our alley!  Thanks for the URL.
