I really don't know how to post here anymore or even if I should. I really do not have any trouble posting with other groups, but here goes. We went to quartzsite and bought 2 BP 125 watt panels and a Boost 2000E and 4 more T-105s for a total of six. I hope I didn't offend anybody or bring up bad memories for anyone in regards to the products or location mentioned in this post. I would rather not say where we got them. I am not bragging or joining any sub-cults. I found no need to check the archive. Also went to the Slabs found that to be an interesting place. If interested in more info contact me off list.
I feel sorry for the groups movement to be more formal. Setting up rules, like to check archives before posting. Sorry I don't have time for this, as we are out RV'ing. I was hoping this was more like friends sitting around the campfire.

Jim:

I'm very interested in know how and where did you installed your extra batts and panels.  I think that also that most of our companions are interested, too. So, please, tell us. in detail, about your experience.

Also, I want to comment that I'm a member of this group only since last january, but I've read ALL the messages from number 1 till today, because I wanted to learn from the experience of others and because I mounted a list of all the comments about floorplans, to facilitate the life of newbies.

Moderator's intervention in this group, since message 1, were VERY rare, and only when things where absolutely off the board. During Andy's watch, he erased messages twice. In the first one, you and Evelyn, a great asset today to this group, weren't members, yet, but it was a deliberate personal attack, in such terms that "strong" would be the understatement of the year. Andy is a very kind person, and uses his moderator "power" with extreme common sense,(by the way, the least common of the senses).

I had a very recent private exchange of messages with Andy, and he wrote me something that's specially interesting: Before posting something in a group you should ask yourself three things: It's true ? It's necessary ? It's kind ?.

Well, Jim, I think this simple thought will made me a better member of the group, since I was part of the beginning (only the beginning, but I was) of the TxB wars.
My comment (elaborating in a famous Churchill's saying} was true? In my way of thinking, yes. It was necessary ? Possibly (again, in my way of thinking). It was kind? Definitely not.

So I want, here, to apologise with Paul specifically and to other members of the group, at least for not being kind. I won't commit this error again.
This group is a great one, and has been VERY well moderated since the first watch, and this is the chief cause of it's huge success.
Differences of opinion have arised, allways, about many matters.
Ocasional flare-ups also...We are human beings!

So, IMHO, I would ask, as somebody who has a great pleasure of reading Evelyn's and your's posts, to consider finished this matter.
I'm a guy who loves history, because it's the best way to understand the future.
This group's history, in more than 47000 messages, is one of freedom of opinion, friendship, mutual support and mutual kindness.
Occasional flare ups never got this group off the track. It certainly will continue in the same path.

Eudoro,

Although I'm eager to move on, I didn't want the members to think I was ignoring you or holding any kind of grudge. Therefore I thank you and also the many members whose kind comments were expressed privately. This is a wonderful forum with wonderful people.

As a long-term RV wannabee, forum member since April and new LD owner since October, I found the comments about the various products and services that have become controversial to be very valuable to me. In reporting back about those that I learned about here and chose, e.g. the Tireman, the Garmin GPS and Finish First, I did not intend to, nor do I think I did, imply that they were superior to solutions other may have found but simply that they worked for me and might work for others.
RV.net is a great resource when searching out general information on roads and highways, campgrounds and attractions, general class C issues and other non-LD topics and I would not like this forum to become ONLY a travelogue board or other non-LD-specific venue.

So please if anyone has found a new or old or unique product or service that you have found solves an LD problem or makes camping in an LD more enjoyable and/or safer I hope you'll continue to spread the word.

Finally, I heartly agree with your comment about Andy, whom I hope to see again at the Northeast LD Scusset Beach GTG on Cape Cod in June.

Thanks again, Eudoro NH Paul

. . . as we are out RV'ing. I was hoping this was more like friends sitting around the campfire . . .
Jim - you brought back some fun memories of when I was out full-timing with Mz. Daisy, (the Elder). I spent several weeks with friends at the Slabs one winter - what a hoot!! I also got some great solar panels and Solar Boost installed while I was there - I can't remember the fellow's name, but he has been in the same spot at the Slabs for something like 20+ years. I was lucky and had a friend who's a physicist and an electrical gadget guru to go with me, so I had some really great advice on what to buy, plus Solar Bob (I think that's how he's known) is one of those reliable installers.
This group got a little off track and tense, but that just happens once in awhile - just like a family. And I like your idea of a group of friends around a campfire. Another group that I used to belong to called it a Virtual Campfire. So like a real campfire - if the conversation gets to a spot where I don't like it any more, I can just walk away for awhile by hitting the delete button, and not responding.
Responding just fans those campfire flames.
Stick with us - even with our occasional warts.  It's the best virtual campfire around.

Happy trails - Sarah

Jim, the only ironclad rule we have around here is the Golden one: be nice to other people.
Most folks don't have a problem with that, and if we step on somebody's toes once in awhile--it happens to everyone, myself included--an apology will generally set things right.
As for checking the archives when you can, that isn't a "rule"...it's just courteous behavior in any internet discussion. Nobody's expected to spend hours reviewing previous posts when they're connecting from the road via a cell phone. On the other hand, Art's message archive and the FAQs in this group are good places to find answers *immediately*, instead of having to post a question and then wait for a reply. That's good for you, because you get your answers right away with minimum connect time--always a good thing when you're on the road! And of course, if you don't find the answer you need in the archive or the FAQs--or if you have something new to talk about--you'll post here.
We don't expect or want formality here, any more than in a campfire discussion. But just as you wouldn't want to be yelled at or insulted by the other people sitting around the campfire, or bored by someone droning on and on about some pet peeve, we hope folks here will be courteous and keep the atmosphere friendly and casual, rather than stiff- necked and combative as it is in too many other groups. That's just common sense--not "formality." 'Nuff said. :-)
