FMCA article on downsizing to an LD

Forgive me if this has aleady been noted here before, but I didn't recall seeing anything about it.  I happened onto the Nov 04 issue of Family Motor Coaching, and in it was a great article by E. Miles Harvey.  In it he details all the positive aspects of moving from a Class A Diesel pusher to an LD 30' TB.  Very interesting reading.

Ted I just downsized from a 40ft. Country Coach to a 26ft.
LD. No regrets. However there a lot of pros and cons.
I saw a couple in Livingston full timing in a Caseta had a sign in the side "yes were full timing and no were not crazy" Sincerely; Robert

I think most of us would find very interesting your comments about your experience, it's pro's and it's cons. Could you share this with us ?

Robert,

That was very enlightening.  Far from boring. I've often wondered about the large Class A's as they've passed.  Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much for sharing with us your experiences. Really, there's no free lunch...We have to pay, directly or indirectly for confort... One of the most difficult things in rv's area is exactly to weight the practicality vs. confort...even if you are considering just LD's, you have to compromise to choose what's better for you...and now and then enthusistic discussions flare up about this!

Thanks, I'm certainly looking forward to know you and spouse next year, in America...The list is growing, but I'm keeping it like a treasure...

Thanks again,

Eudoro

It just came to me that we moved from a 2000 square feet house in S.Paulo, pool, sauna, etc, etc, to a 250 square feet, one bedroom house I designed myself, in a much smaller city. The lot has 1,25 acres, but that is basically for trees and the birds, which found a saanctuary here. (It's a gated community, just 33 lots and an 12 acre original forest preservation area). We are much happier in our small house than we were in a big, complicated and expensive to maintain house. Happiness is what is inside us.

Well Eudoro you have 4" and 100lbs on me but you are right 2000sq ft. its to far to the bath room and just think of all that vaccuming and dusting . We bought into a over 50 Village into an older moble home 2-Bed room 2-Bath 14 x 72 and thats way big enough for me.
When your asleep it dosen't matter anyway. I haven't got to play with my new toy (26ft LD) except the trip back from El Paso . The thing that bothers me is after sekking everything in Jan. 2000 Here I am buying it all back, Yard tools etc. O-Well aint life interesting.
