I felt that it was the LD owner's belief that it was not necessary to bring a car along. A less than 24' motorhome (especially a LD) is small enough to park in most standard spaces.

You're right -- our 23.5' Lazy Daze IS small enough to park in most standard spaces.  However, we choose to tow for many reasons (which I've discussed here before).
If we were casual campers, going out for a week or so, our decision to tow might be different.  However, we're on the road for 6 months.  Yes, there are fulltimers who choose not to tow; however, for us, because of where we like to travel and what we like to do after arriving, it would be a major inconvenience not to have another vehicle. (This doesn't even take into consideration the fact that if we didn't take our car with us, it'd sit for 6 months in the 110+ degree heat of a Quartzsite summer.)
We like to travel on roads that you would not want to drive your LD, or any RV for that matter (think 4x4 roads).  Could we rent a vehicle once we got to an area?  If we were someplace like Moab, Utah, a place that has lots of 4x4 rental places, yes.  However, we're usually far from civilization, let alone a car rental agency.
When we get to a base camp from where we're going to explore an area, we don't want to break camp and stow away everything inside each and every day before heading out (this would include a tripod mounted Direcway dish...not something I want to disassemble each morning and reassemble each evening).
This would quickly become such a major hassle, that'd we might end up staying in the campground rather than exploring.  If we do that, why travel?
Plus, there are times when Earl and I want to do things separately (Earl likes to golf, for example).  We wouldn't be able to do that if we didn't have a car with us.
Here's an additional plus to towing, although it hasn't happened to us -- yet (knock on wood): You're out in the boonies and your rig breaks down.  You don't have a signal on your cell phone, so you can't call your emergency roadside service.  What are you going to do?  Well, we can unhook our toad and drive someplace where we either can pick up a signal on our cell phone or find a phone to make the call.
Anyway, as you can see, there are good reasons why some people choose to tow, and it has nothing to do with whether or not the rig can fit in a standard parking space.

Like I had mentioned before, It simply depends upon each and every individual's personal needs. Your reasons are valid and work well for your situation. It also helps give me insight on why people with short coaches tow. Be reminded that the premis of my question also came from the Lazy Daze brochure and what was said about how unecessary it is to take a car along.

But, as many here can vouch for, Lazy Daze often says we don't need lots of things (solar panels, satellite dish, etc.) that some of us think are very important.
A lot of people decide not to tow, and that's fine for them.  Others of us would have a hard time getting along without another vehicle, and that's our choice, too.

Indeed, it all comes down to a matter of choice.
We, have a right to disagree with whatever lazy Daze (or anyone else for that matter) recommends regarding what we do or what we don't do with the motorhome once we drive the vehicle off the lot. If we did, that would be a departure from the lifestyle of RVing we each individually choose to live.
