We just got home from the New Braunfels Camping World where we had the Bilstein shocks and Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer installed on the 1999 30' LD we recently bought. Actually, as Rob has said over in the owners' club, the Safe-T-Plus replaces the stock Ford stabilizer and CW made sure we knew we already had the factory one and were we sure we wanted it replaced?

You betcha! The LD handled better than most brands prior to today's upgrades, but WOW! what a difference in handling they made! Our 30-footer handles like our '97 F150 now - no following dips in the road (what dips? there were dips?) and there is almost no coach body roll around corners thanks to the Bilsteins.
The road atlas stayed put on the couch instead of sliding to the floor and it was easier for someone to negotiate walking to the galley to shut off the water pump while in motion. Most noticeable is how easy it is to drive - it feels more straight and solid on the road and is very pleasant to drive.

We can highly recommend to anyone who finds themselves a Lazy Daze - invest in these aftermarket upgrades, you will probably be just as impressed as we are.

Michelle & Steve (who have no interest whatsoever in CW, Bilstein, or Safe-T other than as very satisfied customers)

Would you mind sharing how much it cost to add Bilsteins and steering stabilizer?

We're CW President's Club members, so the numbers reflect a 10% discount on both parts & installation plus the current (through August 15th) sale prices on all items plus a really good sale on installation of these specific items)

Right now, for the late-model Lazy Daze Ford chassis, Bilsteins are approximately $80 each plus $4.50 installation each. The Safe-T-Plus stabilizer was $314.00 plus $54 for a bracket plus $9.00 installation.

We did have to pre-pay when we made the appointment because they order the bracket for the Safe-T-Plus on an as-needed basis. It took a little under 3 hours to have all this work done (lots of time to shop the aisles).
