Joining the FOLD -- and a question January 12, 2008, 10:44:33 pm Yahoo Message Number: 88253Hi all, We just recently contracted to purchase a Ed and Carol Daniel's 2000 26.5' MB. We've been reading this forum now for a couple of years -- we feel like we know some of you already ;-) We look forward to meeting many of you in person. Andy, we are happy to have your Eureka CD -- especially as it so directly relates to our unit. So many tips! So here's our question. The unit is coming from Florida. We are coming from NH. And the sale will be consummated in CA (at the mothership -- Ed and Carol are taking delivery of a new Lazy Daze). So how in the world will we handle the registration process? Oh, to further complicate matters, we don't intend to return to NH for over 2 months. I will contact NH DMV on Monday, but thought I would check with the group to see if there is any experience with such a unique purchase arrangement. Thanks in advance,Steve and Carol Crisp 2000 26.5 MB named "Thistle Dew Too" Amherst, NH p.s., perhaps some of you recall last years April Fool's Day joke -- it's all coming true except we aren't going to sell our house ;-)

Re: Joining the FOLD -- and a question Reply #3 – January 13, 2008, 12:41:46 am Yahoo Message Number: 88260I just recently purchased an '83 lazy daze rig all within California but at the same time I changed my insurance from one company to another and it ocurred to me that during those two months you'll be away from home, you would of course want to have insurance coverage. I would contact my insurance agent and ask them how to handle the transfer of ownership, insurance and registration. They probably know exactly what you will need to do. Chances are a temporary registration certificate would be issued that you would send to your insurance company so that they could get the insurance paperwork processed and get the proof of insurance in your hands immediately. One thing for sure is you do not want to be driving ANYWHERE in California without that proof of insurance on board. Instant fine if you should get stopped for any infraction or equipment malfunction. I live here in CA and this state is very tight. For example, I sold a car and took it off my insurance and within 3 weeks the DMV sent me a notice that unless I could provide proof of insurance my registration on the vehicle would be immediately cancelled. The insurance company, by law has to inform the DMV and they got that info before the notice I had sold the car. Any vehicle with out of state plates will immediately pique attention, and a loose part, burned out bulb, could have some unpleasant consequences. Just make sure you have all your ducks in a row before venturing out onto public roads.Good luck and congrats on your new to you rig. Enjoy it!
A&E Awning part needed: Reply #4 – January 13, 2008, 03:08:35 pm Yahoo Message Number: 88293Ms. Happy Daze has met the rain gutter on my garage roof; the gutter is bent, the awning end cap is shattered.? This meeting of my two homes happened last summer and I took it into my local, very reliable RV repair facility at that time.? They contacted A&E, only to find out that the particular part that I need is no longer available. Here is the information that I have, and I am sharing it in hopes that one of you kind souls know where I can obtain a replacement. A&E product #958301446; model #977P13.062; serial #42694476.? The needed end cap is located on the right end of the awning as you face the awning.? The awning still works, but is unsightly.? Since I seldom use the awning, one option for me is to have said awning taken off.? I would prefer to get a replacement end cap. Ms. Daze is not Happy, since she has had to be winterized and is currently sitting within 6' of said home/gutter.? Hopefully, a repair is just down the road and she can again answer to Happy!Any and all help/suggestions very welcomed!Carol in Eugene, OR Ms. Happy, '97 26+' IB More new features than ever. I called A+E and found the staff there to be the least helpful I ever met. Then I called the LD factory, and Vince(I think it was he) sent me a new end cap just as easy as that.John
