tank sizes March 21, 2001, 09:59:27 pm Yahoo Message Number: 2782Can anyone tell me the sizes of holding tanks on a 22ft. rear tw/k ? How much weight can it carry? I sure wish I had a manual. Thanks, Karen, in a full blown nor'easter.
tank sizes Reply #1 – March 22, 2001, 07:39:06 am Yahoo Message Number: 2787Karen, I have a 90 23" twin king I bought used, fortunately with the manual. The manual doesn't indicate black and gray holding tank capacities. I'd be happy to have it copied if it would help. It comes complete with copious margin notes from the original owner.
tank sizes Reply #2 – March 22, 2001, 08:20:45 am Yahoo Message Number: 2788Karen, not sure if your '89 is the same, but my '85 22' twin/ king is as follows:Fresh water: 53 gallonsGray water: 18 gallonsBlack water: 20 gallonsNote the small size of the gray water versus fresh water. This is one thing I do NOT like about my LD. When boondocking, one must be VERY conservative, as the gray water will be the limiting factor. One way I've found to lengthen my stay is to transfer gray water via a bucket to the black tank, or a local pit toilet when available. I don't recommend transferring black water though . . . could be a stinky endeavor!!!~Greg

Your wildest nightmares cannot approach the reality of this task.Greg, your values for tank capacity don't sound right. Is this from your manual? My manual does list capacities for '83 models, but I will have to check that later.Steve

The following are capacities for the 1983 22' models:T/K MP RL FL 48g 50g 50g 56g fresh 18g 26g 18g 26g gray 18g 26g 20g 26g blackSteve
tank sizes Reply #5 – March 22, 2001, 08:31:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 2808We typically do this also. Seems there's never enough water in the black and too much in the grey. Using a wash basin for handwashing or dishes works great and is easily transferred to the black water tank.

The brochure for 1985 apparantly was not available yet when the original owner, Mr Haus, bought the unit. The capacities I list were taken from the 1984 brochure, so the values may indeed be wrong. I don't think the tank capacities are listed in my manual, but I'll have to verify that.Remind me to show you this brochure at our upcoming rally. I know you'll get a kick out of it!
