I've discovered that my city water check valve leaks by when pressurized with the water pump. Are these repairable, or must they be replaced? Any tips are welcome.

We're leaving for an overnight trip at a local campground today, so I may just plug it off until I have time to fix it correctly.
Thanks,

~Greg

There is probably some debris under the seat of the valve. With the system depressurized push in on the valve where the hose attaches. This will allow some water to dribble out and hopefully flush out the debris and reseat the valve. Don't do this with pressure in the system or the O ring in the valve will be blown out. Some types can be disassembled some can't. A new valve is only a few dollars.

I worked on ours awhile back when it had a problem. I found the housing was cracked in some fashion. I ended up repairing it somehow, instead of replacing it - and the repair has held.
