V10 Tachometer March 18, 2001, 04:23:46 pm Yahoo Message Number: 2696I would like to know if anyone has connected a tachometer to their LD with the V10? If so, how was it connected besides the usual 12v connection. My Excursion has a similar engine with a tach and I assume it is connected through the computer somehow.

I recommend you run a Deja News search on the rec.outdoors. RV-travel newsgroup, as some months ago someone described a way to do it.Almost forgot - I have an EXCEL spreadsheet which gives revolutions versus speed in all gears. I got it after a long sharp grade in which the cruise control insisted on going 55 in second gear for quite a while and I wondered if I had accidentally overreved the engine. The tone of the engine gives me a good enough indication...I am not running a race, afterall. It has a pickup that straps onto the alternator and picks up the rpm's from there.I also have a short article from a Motorhome magazine that talks about "tapping" into the computer system. I never like doing that but will email a copy of the article to those interested.Glenn
