Well is the fuel shortage (gouge) causing any change in vacation plans? Does anyone have any real world data on the mileage from the power stroke diesel vs the gasoline V10. I believe someone posted that they were seeing 10 mpg and up with the V10. Is the powerstroke mpg more substantial? I was going to order a 30 foot IB but might reconsider getting the diesel in the 26.5. I figure that the truckers will always keep the price of diesel down to a fair price level.

Last trip (800 or so miles with mountain grades, curvy roads) with our 2000 26.5 MB yielded 10 mpg. I will be towing our 3500lb 20ft boat in July on a 1500+ mile trip from S CA up 395 to Lake Almanor in Northern CA...several steep grades. That will be a good test.

As far as gas prices go, I will be saving up more $ for gas (especially the boat as dock prices generally run around .50/gal higher). I am hoping it does keep some people off of the highways lakes, though! Non of my friends are sacrificing vacation time...it's too important. We are all in our 40's and realize that this is the time to really enjoy life with our kids.
