Diesel and Towing

I have been researching the RV market for the past 18 months, have joined several clubs and groups, read many publications as well as attending the Life On Wheels conference recently. It seems that one must eventually take the plunge and I seem to be landing in the Lazy Daze pool.  Hope there is room for one more.
May I ask what kinds of vehicles you are towing and if you use a dingy?  I am considering a diesel for this very reason, although I understand there is a question regarding the reliability of the new
6.0 engine, due mainly I hope, to the lack of a track record. As to
 the dingy, I have a Toyota Rav4.
I'm sure that this will be the first of many questions.  I have been reading the messages.  What a nice group of people you are.
Thank you so much.

I have one of the earliest (1997) Ford V10's, and I couldn't be happier.  I have towed my '91 Infiniti (with the kayak racks on it) all over the south.
I have never felt that I was straining the engine or transmission.  I didn' try to drive fast, but my temp gage never got to the middle of the heat range.  As for the 6.0 diesel, it sounds like a very good idea if it holds up to kind of wear it will get on an RV.
