Gypsyrose is thinking about ordering a rear bed with the diesel option & wondering about floorplan and diesel issues:First off, the current waiting time for any new LD is about 8 months. I've been there and done that! Don't believe it when the factory folks tell you about 6 months. Next, I'll tackle the diesel issue. Why be the guinea pig on a new drivetrain combination? Perhaps in a couple of years, that engine-transmission combination will have a proven track record and the generator issue will be resolved, and it could be the combination for fulltiming or high mile usage. I would think ordering a diesel could lead to an even longer wait time because of availability issues from Ford. Lastly, and I kind of hate to do it, but when you indicate a preference for the "26 ft. rear bed". I take it to mean the island bed. Have you been to the factory and spent time in the various floorplans? Please don't order this based on the floorplans that LD may have mailed to you. If you have actually been in one and like it, thats fine. As I have mentioned at other times, I initially thought this was what we wanted. It is too cramped. If you want or need a permanent bed, consider ordering the 30 ft. unit. If you are determined to get a 26.5 island bed unit, they do show up from time to time on the used market, probably disproportianately in relation to the low numbers sold, and usually are not sold quickly like the other layouts. There is a reason the other floorplans are much more popular.
