replacing storage compartment floor

I need to replace the floor of one of our storage compartments since it has rotted out. After I get the old wood out and cut the replacement, any suggestions as to how to treat the wood for a long life? (1990 RL)

I replaced all the wood around my propane tanks last year because it was all rotten.  It's an '84 so the wood was about 18 years old.  The lesson learned was that all the wood that LD had coated with something (looked like black latex paint?)was fine, all the bare wood was rotten.  So all you folks with new rigs might want to take a look underneath and see if they still make 'em with a lot of exposed wood and give it a coat of something.  I used undercoating spray (see post 14875) from Dupli-Color (Sherwin-Williams), it worked well for me.
For your situation, I'd probably use it on the outside of the storage compartment.  If you put a lot of damp stuff in the storage compartment, it might make sense to coat that too, but I don't know if I'd use undercoating spray on the inside of the storage compartment. I'd probably just use a good latex paint.

Chuck.
