Texas Hill Country Trip June 15, 2003, 10:08:29 am Yahoo Message Number: 23421Thanks again to those of you who gave us touring tips in the Hill Country of Texas. We spent 3 days in Fredricksburg at the Oakmont RV Resort in a peaceful, shaded spot with full hookups including cable TV, and felt very pooh-bahish languishing in the comfy Select Comfort bed (2002 30') watching TV in the evenings. ($22.50 per night with tax) Thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the LBJ ranch and then his boyhood home in Johnson City. The Nimitz museum was enthralling, and we read every word and digested its awful history of the Pacific WWII war theater. The old homes and edifices in Fredricksburg are a wonderful heritage to see. The shops along Main St. are OK if you like the usual touristy items. Due to recent rains, the Hill Country was lush, green and very peaceful.Daisy functioned well with all systems providing maximum comfort, especially the A/C which was definitely needed due to the oppressive humidity and high heat index. Didn't like the A/C blowing directly in the bedroom, but by leaving the toilet room door open, the draft was somewhat diminished. Averaged about 8.5 mpg towing a '95 Honda at 60+ mph over wide variety of terrain (from Denver to Houston).Chris Horst
