Finish first polish

Hi all,

I know we talked about the Finish First Polish some time ago, but I have another question.  I went to the website and ordered some and what arrived was a 3 oz. little jar of polishing crème.  So,  my question is:  Is this jar enough to polish my entire rig?  Will I need to get more?  Is this the right stuff?  I have to say, I was a bit surprised.  Could someone lend some insight?  Thanks...

Hi Lynne,
3 oz of Finish First is not enough to cover your LD.  I just finished polishing my coach last week and used about 2/3 of a 16 oz. can to completely cover my LD once and the cab/cabover area twice.
I don't know where you purchased the product, but check out a company called Show Shine Finish.  Click on the "Lazy Daze" button on his site for some specials that are available for this group:

Hi Lynne,

You ordered the wrong product. You should have ordered the Finish First Polish. You ordered the Metal Finish Polishing Creme for wheels, you can return it for a exchange.

Mike,

From your experience:

1) Could you please tell us how much it takes to do one coat for a  26.5 LD?   I think someone said they managed to do 1 1/2 times with the  16 oz size but I am not sure.

2) Also, what do you feel is the shelf life of the polish if  I were  to order the gallon size?
3) The last time I polished my LD was last fall.  At  that time I  used the polish that the LD Factory sells.  Do you think I need to used  Finish Prep first?  If so, would the 8 oz size be sufficient on the 26.5 LD?
4) And lastly, do you polish the roof landscape aa well?  When I
climb onto the roof, it seems to have a different type of paint on it.
Or maybe, that is because  no one ever polished it in the past and now it iis  not shiny like the rest of the coach.

Thanks in advance.

Kathi,

I don't know if you addressed this to me or Mike S but here are my answers to your questions.

"1) Could you please tell us how much it takes to do one coat for a 26.5 LD?  I think someone said they managed to do 1 1/2 times with the 16 oz size but I am not sure."

I did the outside and inside of my LD twice with one pint of Finish First. On the inside I did the counters, sinks, shower, toilet, range, range hood, and mirrors. If you use it as directed and don't over apply it and waste it you should also be able to get it done twice with 16oz also.
"2) Also, what do you feel is the shelf life of the polish if  I were to order the gallon size?"

They say the shelf life is 2-5yrs depending on storage conditions.
That's a decision you'll have to make! Personally I wish they made a quart size also.

"3) The last time I polished my LD was last fall. At that time I used the polish that the LD Factory sells.  Do you think I need to used Finish Prep first?  If so, would the 8 oz size be sufficient on the 26.5 LD?"

You may want to use the Finish Prep but you could direct that question to Chris, who is a member of this group, and has more knowledge of that. He owns the http://www.finishfirstpolish.com site so he should know better than me. Based on my being able to do my 26.5MB twice both inside and out with 16oz of polish it should be enough but again ask Chris or call or email Bill at Show Shine Finish and ask him.

"4) And lastly, do you polish the roof landscape aa well?  When I climb onto the roof, it seems to have a different type of paint on it." NO, DO NOT polish the roof! Unless you want to fall off from up there it wouldn't be wise! The roof is a textured paint for slip resistance and shouldn't be polished or waxed. Most polishes and waxes wouldn't work to well on it anyway and you'd have a hard time getting it all off anyway.
