We ventured up the Central Californian Coast this weekend to Morro Bay for four days. Spring is in full force with whole hillsides ablaze in yellows and blues.
I read the posts about the Texas countryside's Bluebonnets and had to smile. We have the same flower, known as the lupine and this year showing is the best I have seen in years. Having seen West Texas in the spring, I know that the sight of seeing normally brown hills turn every color of the rainbow is an delightful experience that all of us desert dwellers share.

Wherever you live, load the LD and see the springtime in its full glory.

Larry-
Curious where you stayed in the Morro Bay area with MB State Park closed?  We're planning a trip to that area next month.

The first night we stayed at Montaña de Oro State Park in Los Osos.
It is located at the southern end of Morro Bay. It has a very nice campground with miles of hiking trails in the hills and along the beach. It is a semi-primitive campground with pit toilets and a water tank.  It is a bargain at $7 a night. It is on the reservation system only in the summer.
The next two nights were at Morro Bay State Park, which is supposed to be closed but isn't. This could change between now and next month.
I would give the park a call. It is off the reservation system until the reconstruction is complete.
We moved to Morro Bay SP because it is located next to the Marina. We roll our sea kayaks, on carts, over to the launch area and leave the LD in the campsite. This is very convenient. The Marina also has a good place to eat at the Bay Café, open for lunch and dinner.
Morro Bay SB also has `In route' camping or overflow. It is available after 3:00 PM and requires a self-contained vehicle. You park in the Marina parking and it has a great view of the Bay

Another choice is Morro Strand SB , located north of the town of Morro Bay. It is not on the reservation system. The camp is located on the beach behind a low sand hill and is exposed to the wind. It is OK if you stay in your MH.

There are several private RV parks in the area if you need full hookups.
