Has anyone in this group driven their LD to Oatman AZ?  Is the road from Needles CA especially hazardous, or the route from there out to Kingman?  I've read scare stories about the road, but that may have been in the past, and now no longer applies.  I have a 30IB with a toad, but am used to mountain roads. Thanks for your input.

================================================================== I hadn't heard anything about the roads so it was really something when I drove it from the Kingman side a couple of months ago.  And I was only driving a class B!  The road coming from Needles is much better, I saw a bus conversion drive it! You can drive from Needles up Hwy 95 to Oatman w/o too much difficulty.  After you leave 95 going east the road climbs pretty good and just before getting into Oatman, couple of pretty sharp turns but s/b able to negotiate them.  HOWEVER, parking is limited and I'm not sure where you'd park? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?   But DON'T try the road out of Oatman to Kingman - not that you can't do it but it's a VERY STEEP climb w/ many switchbacks.  We left our MH and took the toad to Oatman on to Kingman and return - the trip is wonderful!!!!!! but we wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly so much in the MH, 30'.

Is this road worse than highway 89a from Cottonwood to Prescott via Jerome AZ? I did that route pulling a camp trailer. I don't think I would do it in a 26.5.

Norm

But DON'T try the road out

We were there 2 weeks ago in our 26.5 MB, but we only drove the short segment from Bullhead City.  The road was rough and narrow, but we took it slow and enjoyed it.  BTW, the wild donkeys, turned loose after the mining bust, run the town.
