Cabela's Spring 2003 Master catalog
Yahoo Message Number: 19367
I received my new Cabela's Spring 2003 Master Catalog the other day and looking through it found some interesting new items. One is a blender that works the "old fashioned way" by hand crank and two speed gear system. It says it can even efficiently chop ice for frozen drinks, be used for a food processor, and a bunch of other things and the pitcher is made of Lexan with a stainless steel base that can nest inside the pitcher when stored. It's 16" when in use and only 9" nested. Sells for $69.99 so it takes no electricity at all and can be used anywhere you can clamp it down with the heavy- duty C-clamp to hold it in place. I'd list the link but it's too long and Yahoo will chop it up anyway. For info and a picture if you don't get their catalog go to the home page and click on Camping/Food Prep then under the Food Preparation click on Food Processing Devices, or just type in blender and let it search for you. It's the GSI Vortex Blender.

They also have several new 12vDC/110vAC freezers with variable temperature thermostats from 0-40 degrees in various sizes with low amp draw compressors. The 2.5-5 amps they mention (depending on size) in the catalog doesn't say if that's at 110vAC or 12vDC and I'd have to say it would be at 110vAC meaning at 12vDC they are 23-46 amps.
The lowest draw was on the 43 quart believe it or not. The 64q was the highest at 5 amps, the smallest 14q is 3.9 amps, and the 16-22q is 3.1 amps. These are OK if you have lots of battery power and power generation to keep them charged, hook-ups, or for while the engine is running. They're in the Coolers/Beverage Holders area of the Camping/Food Prep page or type in coolers.

There were some new bike carriers, one that handles up to 4, and an adapter for women's bikes to be carried on holders requiring a horizontal top frame, and several other neat items that are new as well. If you don't get the Cabela's catalog you can request one at the web site. They have lots of good items for camping, hunting, fishing, and many outdoor activities. Their Adam & Eve sleeping bags make great bag bedding for the LD beds and have tie loops in them and most of their sleeping bags for tying sheets into them.
