Cold LD in MD

Still!!!!  Searching through these newsgroup messages helped me immensely in handling the cold weather ( furnace problems, charging batteries, getting up on the roof, conserving heat, etc.).

I didn't get heading south soon enough ( my dog Chopper had surgery last week so we couldn't hit the road; but he is doing great) so we are enjoying the record snowfall!!  We got about 25 inches here near Annapolis, MD over the last 2 days.  Actually I am kinda enjoying it; especially since I don't have a commute now!

I put a few snow pics in a new Yahoo album; check out if you want: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/dforness/lst?.dir=/MD+Snow&.src=ph&.view=t

The 2002 26.5IB LD is doing just fine in the weather, though not very happy about it! If I had known that I was going to be here that long I would have winterized it.  I've had to run the generator and electric and space heaters for a few hours the last couple days; hard to get much charge from the solar panels with a foot of snow on them!  I did get up on the roof and clear it a few days ago from a smaller storm.  Just now, I was able to dig it out and move it a couple of spots away in the parking lot; hopefully they won't plow me in again....
I plan to hit the road for Florida as soon as the roads allow it.  I have put a bunch of stuff in storage and the RV is pretty loaded up now; needs organizing though.  I hope everybody is doing well!

David,

It looks pretty grim.  I'm sorry you didn't get out before the big storm.  Hurry down south ASAP.

We spent the last couple of days with the LD on the ranch of old college classmates.  The weather was warm and plesant.  We just got back and bought $35 worth of new plants at Home Depot to put out
