Tire Valve Extenders January 18, 2001, 10:04:04 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1659We bought extender hoses from LD when we picked up our 22-ft multiplan in 14-years ago. We drove them 70,000 miles through three sets of tires. No problem. We use a two-outlet pressure gague that snaps onto the extenders to assure that the paired tires are equally inflated. If the hoses develop a leak, the valve-stems themselves seal the tires. At our last trip to LD in Sept 99, we saw beautiful, steelbraid covered extension hoses in their retail store. We'll use them on our new rig.bob phillps Oxford, MI

Tire Valve Extenders Reply #2 – January 21, 2001, 09:34:11 am Yahoo Message Number: 1699I did not know enough to be worried about breaking off rubber valve stems. By 70K miles of experience w/ valve extenders was with OEM-style rubber valve stems.I put the LD-sold extenders on the original, Chevy-provided rubber stems. When we replace tires, we replaced the valve stems and replaced the extender hoses.bob phillips

Also steel valve stems are not a problem. The challenge is Ford supplies the LD chassis with valve stems that are half and half. Neither LD nor Camping World will install extenders on these new valve stems. There is a reason for that. LD suggests the valve stems be replaced.Thankfully I don't have extenders. I had the valve stems replaced with good ones.
