dinette length in 26.5 MB January 16, 2001, 09:57:30 am Yahoo Message Number: 1606The spec sheet from LD says the sleeping length of the dinette in the 26.5MB is 41x70. However, we visited someone's 26.5MB and by actual measurement it is only 66" long. This means one has to be pretty short to sleep comfortably I would think. When I called the company, they said it has never been 70" and the guy almost did not believe me. He said he did not make up the spec charts. However, it IS on the spec sheet and on the internet. Of course then one wonders about the rest of their measurements and are they accurate? He really did not seem to care! My wife is 65". One has to take into account that there is a wood wall at the head and the foot that might not be too forgiving. Anyone have any experience with this situation?

Between the cabover bunk and the rear couch(es), you should not need to choose the dinette. Those sleeping areas are roomy. I'd save the dinette for kids.Steve

I don't see both of us in the cabover together due to getting up in the middle of the night .

My wife has crawled over me when necessary, though, and the current models have more headroom in the cabover than does our '83. I don't think you'll find any manufacturer's dinette beds offer much length. If you are shopping used models, too, Lazy Daze used to make a 'multiplan' on the short chassis (22 to 23.5'). This model was flexible in how it could be ordered, and one version had a rear corner bed, a forward pull-out couch, and of course the cabover. Since about a dozen configurations could be built by the factory, though, it will be difficult to find this particular one.Steve

dinette length in 26.5 MB Reply #7 – January 16, 2001, 07:57:29 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1619When you measured, did you take out the seat back cushions? They come down and form part of the mattress. We use the dinette bed all the time - it is really easy to convert the table, just lift, snap in the support, and swing it down into the bed position - it takes longer to say it than do it. I can stretch out in it and am 5'9". As for the wooden ends, I haven't yet bumped my head.Happy trailsGus Weber
