30-ft payload

Well, if you're planning on boondocking for a while, where you'd need full water, can't dump, lots of canned goods, etc., you might want a different model, but when you think about it, for those of us who use campgrounds with hookups, have routes that pass by grocery stores, etc., the payload seems sufficient to us.

With a full fresh tank, nearly full gas, and a supply of tools/accessories/kitchenware/food in our initial trip bringing the rig home, ours weighed in on the CAT scales around 12,500 without any people on board.

We took ours from TX to ME and back (a 2 1/2 week trip) and generally travelled with 1/2 tank fresh water, a couple of days' groceries, and a week's clothing, knowing we'd be doing laundry at our destination.
It was just the 2 of us and 2 dogs (totalling about 75 lbs of canine), so we were probably looking at an available payload close to 1100 lbs when you factor in the (3 unused seatbelts-dog weight). Even with all the dog "luggage", R/C hobby stuff, 2 mountain bikes on a hitch carrier, and a couple of cases of wine, we definitely had at least a couple of hundred pounds, most likely more, capacity left over. We didn't get any weights loaded like this, but there was no evidence that we were approaching the limit at all.
