PureTalk
We are in the process of switching from Verizon to PureTalk for our wireless phone service.  Although we have been (mostly) happy with Verizon for 16 years, the costs have become somewhat prohibitive so wanted to try another carrier.  With the PureTalk service, we can double our monthly data while cutting the monthly expense nearly by half. They have 5G in our neighborhood and use the AT&T network for nationwide coverage, and customer service is US-based.  Wondering if anyone here has personal experience with their network?

Greg, we’re with T-Mobile, 100 GB of data, 5G service, 4 phones, and it’s $100 per month with my Veteran discount.  That’s $25 per line per month.   Just something else to consider.

Which Verizon plan are you currently on?

We switched to Unlimited Plus a few months ago, then got a loyalty discount and an over-55 discount.  Currently paying around $92/month for 2 lines and that includes taxes and fees.  We each get 30 GB/month of hotspot data included, but can add 100 GB/month per line for $10/month if needed.

Another consideration for Verizon users is Visible. Visible is owned by Verizon and is Verizon but much cheaper.  We pay $50 each per month. Unlimited everything including hotspot. Stream til the cows come home.

Thanks for everyone's input, appreciated.  Still hoping to hear from anyone that has experience with PureTalk, or the AT&T network.

Well, we switched to PureTalk yesterday and so far, in our limited usage time, the service seems to work at least as good as Verizon. We'll continue to assess it as we travel to different areas.

With Verizon, our plan shared 10GB of data between two lines, which most months, was plenty for us. With taxes and fees, we were paying $113/month.  With PureTalk, we now get 10GB each and pay $61/month. Military discount will kick in next month for additional savings.
